About This Project

FRONT

This vinyl cover redesign for Orquídeas by Kali Uchis takes inspiration from the dreamy, feminine aesthetic of the album while giving it a softer, hand-painted look. I illustrated the floral borders using a paintbrush tool and pastel tones with watercolor textures to reflect the beauty of the orchids and create a romantic atmosphere. The main title is set in a handwritten script, paired with an illustration I made of the singer herself.

Inside Sleeve 1

This sleeve features the lyrics for the songs “Dame Beso // Muévete,” which are presented in an elegant, flowing script font to mimic handwritten text. The centerpiece is a large, pastel-toned watercolor illustration of a stylized flower, drawn with soft edges, once again reinforcing it’s floral theme. The overall layout uses the soft, airy pink background, emphasizing the negative space and allowing the lyrics and illustration to mesh well together.

Inside Sleeve 2

This sleeve is dedicated to credits (Musicians and Producers), which are presented in the same elegant script and clear serif fonts used throughout, ensuring readability. The information is visually softened by the use of painted ribbons and bows in the same pastel pink and watercolor texture as the rest of the artwork. These ribbon motifs frame the list of contributors and gently guide the reader’s eye, replacing harsh lines with delicate, feminine design elements.

BACK

For the back cover, I continued the same floral framing and colour palette to keep the design cohesive. The tracklist is organized into two clear sides with elegant typography, and textures, shading, and layout choices were all made to give the vinyl a vintage feel while still staying feminine (which is the album’s main aesthetic).
