About This Project

This is a movie poster I designed for The Fast and the Furious. My goal was to show the film’s exciting street racing style. I used only a few cool colours (mostly purples, blues, and pinks, with white highlights) to make it feel like a nighttime city scene. I added a textured filter, using Photoshop, to make the background look grunge and vintage, linking it to the 90’s/early 2000’s aesthetic of the movie. The main part of the poster is a drawing of a sports car coming out of a smoke cloud, which makes you feel the speed and action, giving the poster some movement. I added Japanese writing for “Speed” and a speedometer in the back to reinforce the racing theme. I also tried replicating the movie title, using a combination of textured images and fonts.
